Bio

I am a lawyer, researcher, journalist, and open-data specialist.

I served as a member of the Working Group on Open Data at the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Working Group on the Re-use of Public Sector Information at the Ministry of Investment and Economic Development.

I have delivered training programs for organizations including Gazeta Wyborcza, Polska Press, and the Information Society Development Foundation (Fundacja Rozwoju Społeczeństwa Informacyjnego). In 2018, I trained open-data coordinators from all Polish ministries and central government institutions. I also participated in a Facebook-funded digital-skills initiative, through which my fellow trainers and I helped educate more than 11,000 participants.

I have collaborated with Gazeta Wyborcza and served as Editor-in-Chief of regional media outlets in Silesia. Throughout my career, I have designed and co-developed numerous applications for processing and analyzing public-sector data.

I hold a law degree from the European University of Law and Administration (EWSPA), affiliated with the Polish Academy of Sciences. I also completed postgraduate studies in Machine Learning and Data Science at the University of Economics in Katowice. In addition, I studied Political Science at the Jagiellonian University, as well as Philosophy, Sociology, and Spanish at the University of Silesia.

I am the author of the book Data Journalism and Data Storytelling (Dziennikarstwo danych i data storytelling), published by Helion. I teach in the Social Informatics program at AGH University of Krakow.

Together with the Media3.0/SAP team, I won third place in the first Polish Government Open Data Hackathon and later served as a mentor in its subsequent edition.

In 2012, I translated Alejandro Jodorowsky's Psychomagic (Psychomagia) from Spanish into Polish.
